Gary J. Hewson - Chairman / CEO

Gary Hewson began his real estate career more than 40 years ago immediately following receipt of his M.B.A. degree from Harvard University. His first position was as a Project Manager/Financial Analyst for Boston-based Cabot, Cabot & Forbes (CC&F). Later he became Senior Vice President/General Manager of the Industrial Development Division of the company, based in Los Angeles. While based in Los Angeles with CC&F, Gary Hewson was responsible for development of more than 25 million square feet of industrial facilities throughout the United States.

In 1976, Mr. Hewson struck out to form The Hewson Company, a development and management firm. Since that time, The Hewson Company has developed more than 20 million square feet of industrial and office space in California, Arizona, Tennessee, Mississippi and Utah. Some of his most noteworthy projects in the Valley include the Phoenix Airport Center adjacent to Sky Harbor International Airport and Fiesta Tech Centre in Gilbert. His largest project to date is the Williams-Sonoma distribution campus in Olive Branch, Mississippi, which consists of more than 2 million square feet of distribution/warehouse space situated on 128 acres in suburban Memphis.

Gary Hewson has been a leader in Valley real estate development, setting trends in site selection and building product design. Mr. Hewson was one of the first to introduce the flex business park concept to Phoenix. He's been an active member of the Urban Land Institute for 25 years and a sponsorship supporter of the local chapter of NAIOP for many years.
